At Highgate, we’re always looking for ways to promote wellbeing, so this September, we took on an ambitious step challenge to make the most of the last days of summer by collectively walking over a million steps as a team. During our lunch breaks and downtime, we encouraged everyone to get outdoors, stretch their legs, and take a break from their screens.
Why did we do this? As a company, we believe it’s important to step away from the computer and get some fresh air. It not only boosts energy levels but also enhances creativity and overall mental wellbeing. With these benefits in mind, we set out on our mission to hit a million steps by the end of the month.
We’re thrilled to announce that not only did we hit our target—we exceeded it! The Highgate team had walked an incredible 1.8 million steps, despite the occasional rainy day. It was a great journey that saw the whole team sharing their updates and embracing the challenge of staying active.
We also asked our team to capture their walks through photography. This led to some amazing photos being shared, which helped keep the momentum going throughout the month.
A special congratulations goes out to our Sales Operations Associate, Meg Scarratt, who submitted the most steps and walk submissions! Meg shared, “It was great to have a reason to get outdoors more and track my steps. Working together as a team to reach the goal, along with some healthy competition to log the most steps, made it a win-win and even more motivating.”
We also want to give a big shoutout to Andy Makin, our Account Director, for submitting the best photograph, as voted by the team.
A huge thank you to everyone at Highgate who participated and made the Noon Walk Challenge such a success. Here’s to staying active and promoting a healthy work-life balance.
