Founded in 2021, Techies Go Green is a community of like-minded businesses, predominantly in the Tech Sector, committed to verifiably decarbonising their operations. The movement is a not-for-profit organisation, with over 300 members. Techies Go Green aim to make it as easy as possible for members to measure their carbon footprint, raise awareness of climate change and help businesses on their journey to net zero.

Since joining Highgate in September 2021, Jenny has been responsible for building, developing and leading Highgate’s sustainability strategy. The steps and actions Jenny has taken, has propelled Highgate to the forefront of sustainability in the IT Channel. In 2022, Jenny was named a finalist in the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards, in the ‘Young Sustainability Executive of the Year’ category. Plus, Highgate were named as finalists in four categories at the CRN Tech Impact Awards and Jenny joined the judging panel. In addition to this, Jenny has spoken at a number of industry events and featured in channel reports, discussing sustainability.

“I am very excited to be joining Techies Go Green as their Channel Ambassador. Sustainability is often seen as a daunting subject and my aim is to simplify that and help organisations make positive changes. My hope is to unite the IT channel and work collaboratively to build a greener future,” Jenny explains.

Jenny becomes the ninth Ambassador for Techies Go Green, joining the likes of Michael O’Hara, John Gladstone and George Cook. The Go Green Ambassadors are responsible for inspiring and enabling a culture of sustainability among the movement’s signatory community, as the world moves towards a carbon neutral future.

This group of individuals will raise awareness of sustainability by delivering environmental education through articles and virtual events, while motivating others to be more energy efficient through the adoption of environmentally friendly lifestyles and renewable energy resources.

They will also lead projects and develop initiatives to help reduce signatories’ environmental impact both at work and home, thus enabling and supporting a ‘think green, live green’ approach.
