Two Microsoft 365 tenants, one either side of the Atlantic, made a single research business behave like two. Highgate and CNNECT merged them over one weekend, with 482 users on both continents none the wiser.
Pharmaceutical research • 482 employees • UK & USA • Client since 2022
Weekend to complete the full migration
Microsoft 365 tenants merged into a single environment
Employees moved across two continents
Disruption to US or UK teams
Invicro is a global research partner to pharmaceutical, biotech and contract research organisations, part of the REALM IDx Group at the time of this project. With teams across North America and Europe, it operates in an environment where cross-border collaboration and data integrity are non-negotiable.
Its IT users were split across two regions, each running a separate Microsoft 365 tenant, and the organisation had reached the point where that split was shaping how it worked.
Separate tenants either side of the Atlantic, siloed data, and no internal resource to run a migration of this complexity.
Two separate Microsoft 365 tenants creating siloed data across US and UK teams
Poor cross-border collaboration and user experience
No internal resource to execute a complex tenant migration
Brand fragmentation across two entities requiring consolidation under a single domain
Invicro's IT users were split across the USA and UK, with each region operating its own separate Microsoft 365 tenant. Teams in both locations were working from different data sets, collaboration was difficult, and the organisation often felt, operationally, like two separate businesses rather than one.
When Microsoft released a multi-geo licence for Microsoft 365, Invicro identified an opportunity to consolidate its tenants while keeping data resident in the appropriate region. Without the internal expertise to execute the migration, they needed an experienced partner to deliver it seamlessly and with minimal disruption.
Working alongside CNNECT, Highgate provided a professional services team to plan and execute the migration over a single weekend, minimising disruption to Invicro's users.
Implementation of Microsoft's multi-geo licence, allowing consolidation while keeping data resident in the appropriate region.
Quest OnDemand used to automate the merge of the US and UK tenants, keeping the project on time and cutting the manual effort required.
The full migration planned and executed across a single weekend, chosen to keep both regions working uninterrupted.
All users brought under a single Invicro.com domain, resolving the brand fragmentation across the two entities.
Two tenants consolidated into one, in a single weekend
Data kept resident in the appropriate region via multi-geo licensing
No disruption to US or UK teams
Consistent data access and a markedly improved user experience
All users unified under a single Invicro.com domain
The migration was completed over a single weekend, moving 482 employees from two Microsoft 365 tenants into one, with no disruption to either the US or UK teams.
Invicro now operates from a single Microsoft 365 tenant, with consistent data access and a markedly improved user experience across the organisation.
The project also completed a brand consolidation, bringing all users under the Invicro.com domain for the first time.
"Our user experience across the organisation has improved dramatically since we engaged with the Highgate and CNNECT teams. They were great to deal with and delivered against all expectations set out at the start of the project. We're looking forward to seeing how they can help us continue to provide great outcomes for Invicro."

Tenant consolidation is a weekend job when it is planned properly and a six-month drag when it is not. We will scope yours honestly.
